STEVE LYONS & BONNIE ANTONINI
Former Sacramento resident Steve Lyons attended Sacramento State before transferring to UC Berkeley, where he received a degree in electrical engineering. Now living in Berkeley, his plays have won multiple awards and have been produced in theaters throughout the United States and England. Also with us is actress Bonnie Antonini, who plays the part of Sylvia Plath in the play and is herself an accomplished poet.
Steve Lyons is founder and director of Playwrights Café, a theatre writing group that meets monthly at the Berkeley Rep. Mr. Lyons’ plays have been produced in London, Edinburgh, New York City, Boulder, San Diego, Los Angeles, Pasadena, and San Francisco. In addition to full productions, his plays have been selected for reading in numerous festivals, such as The Fritz Blitz, the Last Frontier Theatre Conference, and The Ashland New Plays Festival. In addition to winning the Fratti-Newman Political Play Writing Award and taking first place in the 2010 Actors Theatre of Santa Cruz Full Length Play Contest, his plays have been finalists in a great number of contests. His articles have appeared in a diverse array of publications including The Progressive, Visual C++ Developers Journal, Whole Earth Review, and Dramatists Magazine, among others. He spent August 2010 as a reviewer at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.
